What is the Portage County College Access Network?
Portage County College Access Network (PCCAN) is one of 36 free programs across the state that are part of the Ohio College Access Network (OCAN). The organization’s goal is to assist local middle school, and high school students, as well as adults, in completing high school and continuing their education;
It is a community-based, non-profit organization which is a partnership between Kent State University, the Kent City Schools, the Ravenna School District and the Community Action Council of Portage County;
The network strives to bridge the gap between students and the increasing need for postsecondary education, the consistent preparation and significant financial resources needed and coordination’s with guidance counselors to provide comprehensive assistance.
What Services Are Provided?
Activities to inform students early about the importance of higher education, what's involved and preparing for it;
Student and parent advising about the higher education application process, scholarships and financial aid;
Assistance in searching for financial aid and scholarship opportunities;
Scholarships and Book Scholarships.
